The Philadelphia LERA meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at the Vesper Club (we have moved the normal second Tuesday of the month meeting to Wednesday in order to accommodate the romantics among you). Cocktails will begin at 5:30 p.m. and our program at 6:30 p.m.

The speaker for the event is Arthur N. Read, Esquire who has been practicing labor and employment law for more than 35 years, specializing in the representation of immigrant and migrant workers. Mr. Read is the General Counsel of Friends of Farmworkers, Inc. and will discuss various issues relating to immigration matters. His speech will cover the changing status of employer obligations to workers in companies who participate in temporary foreign workers programs, enforcement activities at work sites, the NLRB's view of immigration status issues, regulatory changes and pending litigation.

Please make your reservation by notiffing LERA's secretary, Carol F. Laskin at cflaskin@gmail.com or telephone her at 856-216-0112. The cost for the meeting is $30 for LERA members and $35 for non-members. There is a discounted cost of $10 for students and apprentices. All are welcome and we encourage you to bring a friend.
